Last Minute Pilgrimages in Italy, Spain & Portugal

Choose one of the walking stages along the Via Francigena, Italy In the 9^th Century, the tomb of the apostle St James (Santiago) was unearthed in Galicia. The site, in Compostela, became the focus for pilgrims seeking to achieve their compostela by walking the Camino to the Galician capital: Santiago de Compostela. A few centuries later in Italy, the Via Francigena, literally ‘Road from France’, became a popular pilgrimage route for devotees wanting to visit the Martyrdom of St Peter and St Paul in Rome.
