Off season tours for after the crowds have gone home

Visiting Europe in any season has its pros and cons. In summer it can mean long, sun-drenched days but endless crowds. Autumn and spring are ideal seasons for active travellers because of milder temperatures, breathtakingly photogenic flora and fauna, and fewer tourists.  

Walking and cycling outside of the tourist season often leads to more authentic interactions with locals and fewer people sharing the tracks and trails of Europe, which is ideal for travellers seeking real solitude – many Camino walkers fall into this category. Exploring Europe in the winter months can also save you money.

Sure, winter in Europe can mean colder temperatures, rainfall, and even snow, but if you have the right gear, winter can be a magical time to experience Europe. There are many countries in Europe that experience good weather year round, like Portugal & Madeira, Spain (including the Canary Islands), Italy and Cyprus. 

The majority of our trips take place between April and October when most people prefer to travel. However, every year we find ourselves adding more and more trips that are best enjoyed in winter, or extending trips so that they run year round because of a growing demand for off season trips.
