UTracks to Transition Virtual Active Travel

Since 2006, UTracks has been helping travellers explore Europe's backroads on walking and cycling holidays.

However, over the past few years of unprecedentedness, virtual tourism has seen a sharp rise in popularity as travellers with itchy feet wanted to keep discovering Europe.

This led to UTracks coining the new phrase: virtual active travel.

As it turns out, active travellers are happy with exploring Europe online.

So much so that UTracks has decided to transition all of their popular active holidays online.

Instead of rambling through charming English hamlets, cycling the Amalfi coastline, or hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc, travellers will be able to enjoy doing these experiences online.

"I walked the full Camino de Santiago while sitting on my couch," said one 'pilgrim', "then I received my Compostela Certificate over email. Straight from Spain - it's brilliant!"

"I was able to photoshop my face next to Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. I can say I've been there now," said one virtual active traveller.

A 5-star review on the UTracks website gushed: "The whole family did a virtual bike and barge holiday down the Danube. The kids really got to broaden their horizons."

Virtual active travel works by using locals, formerly tour guides, who strap video cameras to their heads and do the trails themselves.

"I used to take groups of cyclists island-hopping throughout Dalmatia and show them our culture,' said Matej from Croatia, 'now I do the tour alone while they stay at home.'

'It's OK, I guess...the hardest part of the job now is describing the taste of warm buzara. I tell them to imagine smelling a stew of fresh mussels in a wine broth with garlic and breadcrumbs...

I don't know...sometimes you just have to be there."

The anticipated launch date of this new era for UTracks is in exactly one year's time, on 1 April 2025.
