St Francis Way: Citta di Castello to Assisi Tour Review

"Citta di Castello-Assisi-Spoleto is a beautiful walk high in the foothills of the Appenine mountains. Much of the route overlooks verdant valley farmlands and leads through forests of remarkable beauty. Fellow walkers are seldom seen. The hospitality was excellent and the food superb especially at the agriturismo Le Vigne in Spello and Mandorli in Trevi. My wife fell ill on the last day and a call to the emergency number provided led to a prompt dispatch of a rescue taxi organised by the operator."

St Francis Way: Spoleto to Rieti Tour Review

"A great walk, highly recommended. Being elderly citizens (68 and 70) we were a bit anxious about parts described as 'difficult', but if you are already a walker, and do a few extra hills for a few weeks before departure, with walks of several hours at a time, you will be fine. Part of the walk was fairly gentle, actually, along a river valley, for instance. It was very well-organised, but you might want to take extra snacks for the small Italian breakfasts that are for fashionistas not walkers. Dinner provided on the first night in a nearby town was great regional food being enjoyed by the locals, too. Beautiful landscapes to walk through in early May. Would go again tomorrow."

"The Full St Francis Way trip with UTracks was yet another fabulous experience for me. Everything went like clockwork and when it didn't it was entirely my own fault! Got lost one day and had to be plucked out of my predicament UTracks' representatives in Italy, and it was done with great efficiency and no dramas! A wonderful month of walking in beautiful Italy to add to my two earlier experiences with UTracks on the Via Francigena from Gran San Bernardo Pass to Rome. Highly recommended."
