Make your own way to your hotel in Palermo. There will be a welcome briefing with your guide at 5pm, dinner is included tonight in a local restaurant. Palermo has many architectural masterpieces belonging to different cultures and centuries. If you have arrived earlier in the day, we recommend you taste some typical street food like “panelle” and “cazzilli”. Time permitting you can head to Monreale to admire its beautiful Cathedral which is famous for its precious golden mosaics in the Byzantine style.

After breakfast, transfer by private vehicle to Segesta, where you begin a walk through the gentle countryside of the Val d'Erice. Along the way, explore one of Sicily's most remarkable archaeological sites. Founded in the 4th century BC, the ancient city is home to an exceptionally well-preserved Doric Temple and an impressive theatre overlooking the surrounding hills, offering sweeping views across the archaeological landscape. After your visit, continue by private transfer to Scopello, a charming fishing village on Sicily's north-west coast. 9.5km/5.9mi, +300m/984ft, -300m/984ft

Meals:  B,L,D

Today you explore the spectacular Zingaro Nature Reserve, Sicily's first protected nature reserve established in 1976. It is renowned for its dramatic coastline, secluded coves and crystal-clear beaches. Following a scenic coastal trail, you'll enjoy sweeping views of the Mediterranean while walking through landscapes rich in native flora, with more than 650 plant species, and habitat for birds of prey including falcons and eagles. Pause for a picnic lunch along the way and, weather permitting, take the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in one of the reserve's pristine coves. This evening is free to explore Scopello at your leisure, with dinner on your own tonight. Distance: 11.5km/7.1mi, +500m/1640ft -530m/1730ft

Meals:  B,L

After breakfast, a private transfer takes you to the Monte Cofano Nature Reserve, located between San Vito Lo Capo and Trapani. This striking coastal reserve is known for its rugged limestone landscapes and rich Mediterranean vegetation, which thrives in the mountain environment. As you follow the scenic trails, you'll pass Palaeolithic caves and the Torre della Tonnara, a 16th-century watchtower built to defend the coastline from pirate raids. Keep your swimwear handy for the chance to enjoy a refreshing swim (weather permitting), and watch for the reserve's resident birdlife, including peregrine falcons, kestrels and buzzards. After the walk, transfer to the historic port city of Trapani, where you'll spend the next four nights. This evening, enjoy a group dinner. +-250m/820ft

Meals:  B,L,D

Today you visit the historic coastal town of Marsala, renowned for its rich maritime heritage, celebrated wines and centuries-old salt production. Begin with a visit to the iconic windmills and salt pans, where traditional sea salt is still harvested using methods that have shaped the region's economy for generations. Afterwards, enjoy free time to wander Marsala's elegant historic centre, with its Baroque architecture, lively piazzas and inviting cafés. In the afternoon, tour one of the town's renowned wine cellars to learn about the production of the world-famous Marsala wine, followed by a tasting. Return to Trapani for the evening.

Meals:  B,D

This morning, take a hydrofoil (30–50 minutes) to Levanzo, the smallest inhabited island in the Egadi archipelago. With no private cars permitted, the island has retained a peaceful, old-world charm. From the harbour, walk through the Mediterranean landscape to the renowned Grotta del Genovese (subject to availability), home to remarkable prehistoric paintings and engravings dating back to the late Palaeolithic period. After visiting the cave, continue along quiet coastal trails, passing hidden coves, rocky headlands and native vegetation while enjoying a picnic lunch surrounded by the island's spectacular scenery. Return by hydrofoil to Trapani in the afternoon, where you'll have free time to explore the historic centre and choose from the city's many excellent restaurants for dinner at your own arrangements. 13km/8mi, +200m/656ft, -200m/656ft

Today you set out on a rewarding hike from Trapani to the beautifully preserved hilltop town of Erice, perched 750 m (2,460 ft) above sea level. As you ascend, enjoy ever-expanding views across the coastline and surrounding countryside before arriving in one of Sicily's most captivating medieval towns. Believed to date back to around 1100 BC and originally settled by the ancient Elymians, Erice was later fortified by the Normans in the 12th century and retains its timeless character with winding cobbled streets, historic churches and ancient stone buildings. Enjoy time to explore at your own pace and choose from one of the local restaurants for lunch before descending by panoramic cable car to Trapani. This evening, celebrate your final night in Sicily with a farewell group dinner. +800m/2625ft, -50m/164ft
