Trip highlights

  • Cycling through the rolling hills of the stunning Burgundy countryside
  • Exploring interesting historical towns and villages
  • Enjoying the culinary specialties
  • Soaking up the hospitality of a family run hotel in the centre of Beaune

Based in Burgundy's wine capital, Beaune, this short break combines cycling through the grand estates with time to soak up the charm of the town. The nearby vineyards offer a number of interesting cycle routes on a combination of dedicated cycle paths and minor roads, past rolling vine covered hills and small hamlets brimming with local produce. Sample wines at the cellar door or stop for a leisurely lunch at one of the many restaurants in the region. There is ample time to appreciate the great history of Beaune and a visit to the hospices is a highlight.

You will have the opportunity also to visit the Château de la Rochepot: a magnificent 13th and 15th century fortress with roofs made of glazed tiles. We recommend you stop at Olivier Leflaive for a special cyclists wine tasting lunch in the town of Puligny-Montrachet (note: bookings are required). Overnight in Beaune.
