St Patrick's Day is one of our favourite festivals in Europe. It's the biggest party in the country and something that you must experience at least once in your lifetime. As the streets of Ireland begin to turn green, we've been thinking about our favourite walking and cycling holidays with an emphasis on fine wine, craft beer, superior spirits and first-class company. In a nutshell - the best tours for beer and wine lovers that would be on St Patrick's bucket list!

Wine tasting in BurgundySample wine from cellar doors as you cycle along the famous Route de Vin in Burgundy, France
  1. Beautiful Burgundy

Burgundy is one of the premier wine-growing regions in Europe, and there's no better way to experience it than on foot or two wheels. After a day exploring Burgundy's quiet country roads and canal ways, stopping when you please to sample wine or visit castles, abbeys and museums, return to your private barge and share local wine and stories with fellow passengers, or soak up the atmosphere in your charismatic family-run hotel or B&B. Our Burgundy itineraries read more like wine lists!
I had a very good time in France. The trip was well organized and the scenery beautiful, we travelled through some wonderful villages and tasted some great wines. I would certainly consider arranging another trip through UTracks and will suggest using you guys to any friends or colleagues that I can.  ~ T.R, Canada
Traditional food & beer in BavariaSoak up the atmosphere of lively beer gardens on the Beer Cycle Route
  1. Bavarian Beer Trail Cycle

The beautiful Aisch Valley boasts the highest concentration of breweries in the world. Following the Beer Cycle Route, you’ll pass on average one brewery per kilometre. On this self-guided tour, you’ll have ample time to absorb beer and the atmosphere in lively beer gardens and explore beautiful medieval towns like UNESCO-heritage-listed Bamberg, the fairy-tale village of Rothenburg, and historic Nuremberg. The stages on the loop can be shortened by using trains, and e-bikes are available for a supplement, making this cycling holiday a great option for every beer lover.
This is a wonderful trip. I loved seeing Germany this way. Riding through the quiet countryside and through tiny towns was priceless. It was a great mix of that along with some busier, larger cities. My husband and I will do a trip like this again and we will absolutely book with UTracks. We had no problems and everything was fantastic. ~ C. Fleischhauer. Raleigh, NC, USA
The San Snova boat in CroatiaThe San Snova is a 'premium' category yacht used on the Croatia Bike & Sail
  1. Croatia Bike & Sail

Explore the breathtaking chain of islands that encompass Southern Dalmatia and enjoy a cocktail or two every evening aboard your private yacht or in the picturesque old towns of Korcula or Hvar as you experience some of the best sunsets the world has ever seen. With equal parts activity, culture and relaxation, this trip has it all.
Croatia Bike & Sail was the perfect active holiday! For people who enjoy being on the sea and for fit people who enjoy cycling it’s a cool way to explore this idyllic coastline. The vibe on the boat, in the villages and cycling through these sunny islands is very chilled, there is an air of taking things at a more relaxed pace. ~ Scott K. NSW, Australia
Hiking in RomaniaA self guided hiker amiring the view in Romania's Piatra Craiului National Park

4. Intriguing Romania

Romania is blessed with intriguing history, rich culture, breathtaking mountain ranges, traditional villages and imposing castles. Get into the heart of Romania on a walking or cycling tour that encourages genuine cultural exchange with the local people. One of the highlights of any of our walking and cycling trips in Romania is staying in rural pensions and guesthouse which, while simple, provide a unique dimension to the cultural experience of travelling in Romania. After exploring the countryside all day, being greeted by your friendly hosts with some homemade cheery liqueur or brandy is an interesting treat that you may not like at first but will learn to appreciate! Colourful streets cycling through Bantry

5. Cork Coast Cycle

Experience the very best in Irish hospitality as you cycle along the stunning Cork Coast, past rural landscapes, rolling green hills and colourful heritage villages with hanging baskets brimming with flowers out the front of every pub and shop. Discover the region’s history and folklore as you mingle with artists and fishermen in inns and pubs that are over two centuries old. What's more, as Ireland’s second largest city, Cork is known for its rivalry with Dublin and maintains it is the best place to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
The Cork Coast Cycle was my fourth trip with UTracks, and it didn’t disappoint. The scenery was breathtaking, the fresh seafood was amongst the best I’ve ever had, the locals were so friendly and welcoming, and the charming atmospheric pubs made it the perfect active holiday. ~ Damian Burke, Auckland, NZ
