St Patrick's Day is one of our favourite festivals in Europe. It's the biggest party in the country and something that you must experience at least once in your lifetime. As the streets of Ireland begin to turn green, we've been thinking about our favourite walking and cycling holidays with an emphasis on fine wine, craft beer, superior spirits and first-class company. In a nutshell - the best tours for beer and wine lovers that would be on St Patrick's bucket list!

Beautiful Burgundy

Burgundy is one of the premier wine-growing regions in Europe, and there's no better way to experience it than on foot or two wheels. After a day exploring Burgundy's quiet country roads and canal ways, stopping when you please to sample wine or visit castles, abbeys and museums, return to your private barge and share local wine and stories with fellow passengers, or soak up the atmosphere in your charismatic family-run hotel or B&B. The beautiful Aisch Valley boasts the highest concentration of breweries in the world. Following the Beer Cycle Route, you’ll pass on average one brewery per kilometre. On this self-guided tour, you’ll have ample time to absorb beer and the atmosphere in lively beer gardens and explore beautiful medieval towns like UNESCO-heritage-listed Bamberg, the fairy-tale village of Rothenburg, and historic Nuremberg. The stages on the loop can be shortened by using trains, and e-bikes are available for a supplement, making this cycling holiday a great option for every beer lover.

This is a wonderful trip. I loved seeing Germany this way. Riding through the quiet countryside and through tiny towns was priceless. It was a great mix of that along with some busier, larger cities.
