Via Francigena Testimonium Tours
Get officially recognised for completing your Italian pilgrimage
For some travellers, a big motivation for completing the Via Francigena is to receive a Testimonium Certificate. This is a document one receives from the office of the “Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi” in St. Peter’s Square in Rome.
A Testimonium is the Italian equivalent of the Camino de Santiago's Compostela, or Pilgrim's Certificate. It signifies that the holder has walked or cycled the necessary distance to complete the Via Francigena, which is 100km by foot and 200km by bike. Stamps are collected along the route. According to the European Association of the Via Francigena, it certifies that the pilgrimage was undertaken in a religious spirit.
The below walking and cycling tours all meet these distances and will make you eligible for the Testimonium Certificate upon finishing in Rome. If you'd like further advice simply reach out to our friendly team who will be more than happy to help.
