Coast to Coast Rambler: 18 Days Tour Reviews

"In June 2019 my wife, daughter and myself walked the Coast to Coast walk. A wonderful walk with spectacular views over the countryside - no one can accuse Wainwright of looking for the easy option where you can over every mountain instead of around it. The experience was spoiled a little by the English summer weather which is worse than mid-winter where we live - ample use was made of our wet gear although we did have one or two sunny days. The walk was hassle free thanks to the excellent arrangements made for us by Sherpa Expeditions - the accommodation booked for us was all great and we especially enjoyed the well earned beers and pub meals in the evening with fellow walkers we met along the way. Keld Lodge at the halfway point was particularly hospitable. I also thanked the hiking gods at the top of every hill, of which there were many, that we had made use of Sherpavan to transfer our luggage instead of carrying large packs."

Coast to Coast Walk: 17 Days Self Guided Tour Review

"Strong support in every aspect. Personal contact was made at every step of the booking process and fast efficient response to any queries. Accommodation and luggage support were excellent."

L Terrance | NSW, Australia

"I enjoyed a truly exhilarating experience on my coast to coast walk, completed last Saturday with a celebratory paddle in the sea at Robin Hood's Bay before hurling the pebble that I had carried from St. Bee's. It was a full catalogue of enriching moments that allowed for two fine, gentle warm days at the start then 5 days of torrential rain whilst walking through Lakeland. That gave added edge to the challenges of scaling the high peaks and the experience of wading or leaping across swollen becks.

Bogland is a wonderful word that really doesn't describe the glutinous, slimy, boot grabbing mud with it's own special odour. Then with weather improving it was through the changing scenes of moorland towards the ultimate destination arrived at on a glorious sunny day. The choice of B and B's, small inns and even the hostel at Kirkby Stephen were all wonderful, each with their own particular character but all with a warmth of hospitality and great breakfasts and always good food nearby for an evening meal. The adventure was given magical colour and life by the people that I walked with at times, These chance encounters gave opportunity to swap stories of life and of the experiences of each day. Helping hands when 'a bit off course' helping hands when crossing a beck and encouragement given to others was all part of the kaleidoscope that made this such a great way to spend two weeks exploring this wonderful country that is England.

Among fellow walkers were Canadians, Americans and Australians who will all have returned home with great memories of what our small country has to offer. Thank you for all that you contributed in the planning and for the very useful information and walk notes."

"The reliability of our suitcases being delivered correctly and before arrival allowed so much more time to concentrate on our day ahead. Your choice of accommodation for our group of four was an unexpected delight upon every arrival. The proprietors were welcoming and cordial. I can't say enough about the quality outcome of UTracks' services and dependability."

G. Barnes | USA

"The trip was great and the weather perfect. Accommodation very good. Apart from a troublesome left knee I thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent scenery. I didn't allow for rest days, which are absolutely necessary to help foot and leg recovery. UTracks are a must and highly recommended."

Coast to Coast: St Bees to Kirkby Stephen Tour Reviews

"The staff at Sherpa are always extremely helpful and professional. The trip organisation combined with the services of Sherpa Van to transport baggage [and people where necessary] was excellent. I have been on over a dozen Sherpa self-guided holidays and will undoubtedly do so again."

J. Green | West Sussex, UK

"Very pleased with the way my trip was organised. Bag moving was excellent with Sherpa Van along with the return bus trip to St Bees. Accommodation generally good. Impressed with your staff sorting my trip at short notice and the contact to orgnaise it. Enjoyed the good views and weather on the high ridges of Helvelyn and striding edge. Make sure walkers appreciate how hard walking in the Lake District is."
