Beginning in the charming port town of Klaipeda, this self-guided cycling tour follows low-traffic roads and designated bike paths along the Baltic Sea coastline, through pine forests, rolling countryside and quiet villages. Along the way, you’ll uncover hidden beaches, sandstone caves, manor houses and UNESCO-listed Old Towns, all while experiencing the cultural contrasts that make this region so unique. The tour finishes in Riga, Latvia’s vibrant capital, where cobblestone lanes and art nouveau architecture meet a modern café culture.

What's included
What's not included
On this trip you will be provided with a 24 speed bike rental with back pedalling brakes. The comfortable hybrid/trekking bikes are well suited to the roads and paths of the Baltics. You will be provided with a handlebar bag with a smartphone holder, repair kit (per booking). In the case of a puncture the assumption is that you can repair.
Upgrade option: KONA Jake, 20 speed with aluminium frame, luggage rack.
Upgrade option: SILVERBACK Siablo CF, with fully carbon frame, hydraulic disc brakes, 11-speed derailleur gears (SRAM Rival or Shimano GRX), luggage rack.
An electric bike is available on request. A supplement applies, see below.
Electric bikes, or e-bikes, are designed to make cycling easier. The pedaling ‘boost’ provided by an e-bike opens up more options, allowing people of different fitness levels to cycle together or for cyclists to take on routes they may otherwise consider too tough for their current fitness capabilities. Please note that e-bikes are heavier than normal bikes and given the higher speed possible, should only be ridden by confident cyclists. Minimum age for e-bike rental is 18 years and minimum height requirement is 150cm / 4ft11in. A maximum weight of 120kg also applies for e-bike rentals. A security deposit of EUR200 per e-bike is required to be paid locally.
GRADE 4 - Daily cycles of around 27 to 78km / 15.5 to 45mi. The route is mostly flat and the cycling is mainly on roads with little traffic and cycle paths - only very short distances are cycled on roads with more traffic. The accent is on keeping a steady pace with time to stop and take photos (subject to weather conditions). You will need a good level of cycling fitness to participate fully in this adventure. Faster riders can cycle more kilometres on Day 7 instead of taking the train journey from Jurmala to Riga.
