On arrival in Lübeck, make your way to the joining hotel for check in from 3pm. Lübeck is a UNESCO World Heritage city in northern Germany, renowned for its medieval architecture and rich maritime history. Once the leading city of the Hanseatic League, it boasts stunning Gothic buildings, including the iconic Holstentor gate and St Mary's Church. Wander through its charming cobblestone streets, explore hidden courtyards, and indulge in its famous marzipan.

Meals:  Nil

From Lübeck, you can choose to cycle or take the train (20km) to the coastal town of Travemünde, where you’ll board a ferry to the tranquil Priwall Peninsula. Once on Priwall, the cycle route meanders along picturesque coastal paths, offering breathtaking views of the Baltic Sea. You'll pass through charming fishing villages before reaching the seaside resort of Boltenhagen, an ideal spot for a relaxing lunch by the shore. Afterward, the journey continues along the coastline to Wismar Bay, leading you to the historic Hanseatic city of Wismar. Here, you’ll be rewarded with stunning medieval architecture and a rich maritime heritage, all part of this captivating ride.

Meals:  B

From Wismar, the cycle route offers the option to detour to the serene island of Poel, easily accessible via a bridge. This peaceful island is perfect for a scenic break before continuing your journey along the Baltic coast. As you approach the seaside resort of Kühlungsborn, you’ll pass through the quaint village of Basdorf. Here, a climb to the top of the lighthouse rewards you with stunning panoramic views of the Baltic Sea. On clear days, you can even spot the distant island of Fehmarn on the horizon. This stretch of the route offers a mix of coastal beauty and hidden gems. Overnight stay in Rerik, Kühlungsborn, Bad Doberan or the surrounding area.

Meals:  B

Today's stage offers some of the most picturesque and historically rich sights along the route. A highlight is the elegant Heiligendamm, Germany’s oldest seaside resort, where the white villas and beachfront promenade reflect its 19th-century charm. Further along, you'll encounter the impressive Doberan Minster, a stunning example of Brick Gothic architecture with a history dating back to the 13th century. As you cycle past the dramatic cliffs of Nienhagen, the eerie beauty of the Ghost Forest awaits—an enchanting stretch of twisted, windswept trees perched along the steep shoreline. Finish the day with an overnight stay in the bustling port city of Rostock or the charming seaside town of Warnemünde.

Meals:  B

Take the Warnow ferry (incl.) to Hohe Düne. If you want to learn all about amber, then a visit to the Amber Museum in Ribnitz Damgarten is worthwhile. Nearby is a show apiary where everything revolves around honey. When you have seen all this, cycle back to the Baltic Sea to your hotel on the Fischland or stay directly in Ribnitz Damgarten. Overnight stay in Ribnitz-Damgarten, Graal-Müritz or on the Fischland.

Meals:  B

This leg of the journey takes you through the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft (Western Pomerania Lagoon Area) National Park, where pristine coastal landscapes and unique wildlife create a natural wonderland. You'll pass tranquil lagoons, dense forests, and vast sand dunes, offering endless opportunities to pause and take in the scenery. End your day in one of the picturesque towns of Prerow, Zingst, or Barth, each offering a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the charm of the Baltic coast.

Meals:  B

From the Bodden (lagoon) town of Barth, your journey continues along the coastline, offering sweeping views as you make your way toward the Strelasund. The coastal landscape is dotted with small villages and endless views. Upon reaching the historic city of Stralsund and the end point of your cycle tour, you'll be welcomed by its impressive medieval architecture and vibrant maritime heritage. Don’t miss a visit to the renowned OZEANEUM, an award-winning aquarium that brings the wonders of the sea to life, and the towering St Mary’s Church, offering panoramic views over the city. Enjoy an overnight stay in Stralsund, a perfect end to a memorable cycle holiday.

Meals:  B

The trip concludes after breakfast. If you need to return to Lübeck, there is an optional transfer available, please ask our team for details.

Grading

moderate

MODERATE - Grade 3 This trip involves 6 days cycling with cycling stages from 17 to 77km / 10.6 to 48mi per day with gradual ascent and descent. The terrain on this tour is flat with occasional hills however weather conditions can impact on the riding difficulty particularly with a headwind. The Baltic Sea Cycle trail follows well-maintained paths, quiet country roads, and traffic-free routes, especially near towns, cities, and nature reserves. However, there are some sections where cyclists may need to share the road with cars, particularly in rural or less-developed areas. *For safety reasons, we insist that cycle helmets are worn.
