Watch: Sarah's Family Adventure on the Tour du Mont Blanc
Follow along as UTracks traveller Sarah takes on the Tour du Mont Blanc with her family, tracing the trail through France, Italy and Switzerland and picking up more than a few lifelong memories along the way.
This video gives a real feel for a day on the trail: the pace, the mountain refuges, the shared meals, and the sense of achievement that comes with each pass crossed. Whether you're drawn to a fully guided departure or prefer to walk the route at your own pace, it's a great introduction to one of Europe's most celebrated long-distance hikes.
About UTracks' Tour du Mont Blanc
The Tour du Mont Blanc is a horseshoe circuit around Western Europe's highest peak, crossing high alpine passes in France, Italy and Switzerland. It's one of the most celebrated long-distance walks in the world, and for good reason: each day brings a change of scenery, from glacier-fed valleys to flower-strewn alpine pastures, with the Mont Blanc massif a constant backdrop.
On our classic guided departure, hikers cover around 10 to 20km a day over 5 to 9 hours, overnighting in mountain refuges and village gîtes on a dormitory share basis. Mules carry your main luggage between stops, so you only need to carry a day pack while walking. Small international groups of up to 14 are led by an expert local mountain guide, with meals, luggage transfers and internal transport all included along the way.
With logistics taken care of and each day's route mapped out, our Tour du Mont Blanc trips let you focus on the trail and the mountains around you. Choose a guided departure with an expert local leader, or a self-guided itinerary at your own pace if you'd rather go it alone. We also offer gentler "Rambler" pacing and family-friendly departures, so there's a way to experience the TMB whatever your hiking style.
Group sizes on our guided departures are kept small, and popular July and August dates fill quickly, so it's worth booking well ahead if the Alps are calling.
