About UTracks
The story of how UTracks became a leading Active Europe specialist
What is Active Travel?
Step beyond the days of passive sightseeing: endless hours sitting on a coach, shouldering crowds to take photos of well worn tourist sites, being fed meals fit for tourists.
Active travel instead lets you become completely immersed in your trip.
Walk village back roads and stumble upon authentic farmers' markets. Cycle through crisp alpine landscapes and soak up the scenery in the fresh air. Encounter locals who are genuinely happy to welcome you to their region. Feel unbridled satisfaction when you reach your destination and create more valued memories as you celebrate the journey. And, after a day of lively activity, the food and wine is so much tastier - trust us.
The Growing Desire for Active Travel
In 2006, World Expeditions launched its 'Active Europe' programme, which included 21 self guided and small group holidays. The self guided trips in particular were a hit with travellers and the range was rapidly expanded to cater for demand. The next year, the UTracks brand was born to fill a much needed gap as the specialist Active European holiday division of the World Expedition Travel Group.
