On arrival at Rhodes airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Kalavarda. Subject to your arrival time (afternoon arrival at the hotel) you can take a loop 32km bike ride round Kalavarda, first through the inland with one slope, returning through the coastal area including the fishing harbor and beach of Fanes.

Meals:  Nil

Petaloudes is the famous butterfly valley of Rhodes, as from the end of June until mid-September you will see thousands of butterflies. If visiting outside of that period it is still worth coming to the valley. Today's cycle is 36 km long (+ walk of 2 to 4 km through the butterfly valley). Entrance to the butterfly valley is € 6.00 (there is a discount if there are no butterflies - price subject to change). If you are up to it you can also opt for a longer bike ride. After the butterfly valley, cycle to Filerimos Hill, where you can see the remains of an ancient city and a medieval monastery at the summit. On the way back the route follows the coastal area along quiet roads. Overnight in Kalavarda. Elevation: 250m/820ft or 400m/1312ft

Meals:  B

This morning you will cycle along a beautiful coastal road to reach the excavations of Kamiros. After an exploration of this site you follow an unspoilt route directly along the sea to Mandriko. The fishing town of Kamiros Skala is perfect for a coffee break before you start climbing. You will firstly reach the castle ruins of Kritinia, with beautiful views of the island of Chalki, then to the village of the same name, perhaps stop for lunch here and visit the folklore museum. Cycling along the flanks of the Ataviros, the highest mountain in Rhodes, you will soon reach the wine village of Embonas (optional wine tasting). Your cycle today is quite short but should not be underestimated, as you will be climbing from sea level to over 400m total. Overnight in Embonas. Elevation: 600m/1968ft

Meals:  B

Today's bike tour takes you from Embonas to the east coast through rolling hills and is probably the toughest section of the Rhodes part of the tour. Along the way stop in the authentic villages of Apollona and Platania for a coffee break, there is a local museum in Apollona you can visit, however the most outstanding feature of this area is the beautiful landscape. Stop for lunch on the village square of Archipoli, at the monastery of Agios Nektatios or the Epta Piges (Seven Sources). Take a walk through an old tunnel that once belonged to an aqueduct system. Once at Kolimbia you will have reached the east coast and after a steep climb of 2.5 km through some beautiful scenery you will arrive in Archangellos, where you stay overnight. Elevation: 350m/1148ft

Meals:  B

Today’s bike ride will take you to Lindos, a white town with an ancient temple within the walls of a medieval castle. Start with a descent through a gorge and citrus orchards before an ascent just before reaching Lindos. You will be cycling mainly on the 'old national road' which is almost free of traffic. Malona and Massari are lovely villages to stop at along the way. After Lindos you can choose to cycle the same way back to Archangellos or a loop can be made via the small seaside resort of Charaki (4km longer). You can also extend the route back to Archangellos even further by visiting the monastery Kammyri (7km extra). Overnight in Archangellos. Elevation: 450m/1476ft

Meals:  B

Today's route largely follows the coast and is a little busier with traffic, in particular from Faliraki, which is located two-thirds along the way to Rhodes. Highlights you will discover en route are the eucalyptus avenue of Kolimbia, the beaches of Afandou, the Anthony-Quinn Bay and the baths of Kalithea, recently fairy-tale restored. This fairly easy route ends at Hotel Saint Michel, within the walls of the historic old town of Rhodes. For cycling enthusiasts there is an alternate route through the countryside, much quieter but also a lot harder. You will cycle through beautiful landscapes to Psinthos and Kalithies, followed by a few unpaved sections to finally reach Rhodes City through the back door, where the oldest parts of Rhodes City are located. Elevation: 200m/656ft or 500m/1640ft

Meals:  B

This morning you have enough time to explore Rhodes Town as you are likely to take the ferry in the afternoon. Enjoy the city's highlights and also its tranquil locations with barely any visitors. Leaving the bikes at the hotel, you transfer from the hotel to the port (5 minutes, included), with the ferry crossing taking approximately 2 hours. On arrival, transfer from the harbour to your hotel (included) in Fethiye.

Meals:  B

On your ride today you explore the cosy harbour town of Fethiye. A visit to the old paspartur with its great diversity of shops is highly recommended. Another option is a bike ride from the promenade in Fethiye to the lush, green valley nearby, which will lead you to a typical Turkish lunch place. Overnight in Fethiye. Elevation: 275m/902ft or 100m/328ft

Meals:  B

After breakfast you will be transferred (25km) to the village of Zorlar, from where you cycle along the foothills of the Akdaglar Mountains through a wide valley to the Bay of Patara. Cycling through a rural landscape on narrow country roads you will reach the gorge of Saklikent, approximately halfway along. This impressive gorge is approximately 300m deep and is a great place for lunch. Maybe try a Turkish gozleme (a Turkish pancake is filled with cheese, vegetables, potato or honey). After lunch, the route continues alongside the Esen Cay River and to the archaeological site of Xanthos. From there it is a short distance to the old village of Patara. Patara is known not only for its archaeological sites but also for the longest, sandy beach in Turkey and the amazing dune landscape behind it. The sting today is in the last 100m of the route - a short but very steep climb to hotel. Overnight in Patara. Elevation: 400m/1312ft

Meals:  B

Today's route is short and will give you plenty of time to view the ancient Lycian city of Patara., once the capital of the Lycian federation. The distance from the hotel to this ancient site is only 1.5 km however you could easily think you had stepped back in time. The cycle route takes you almost entirely via a coastal road to the fishing village of Kas. The only obstacle on today’s ride is a steep climb of around 4km with an elevation gain of 250m. At the top of the climb you will reach the village of Eski Kalkan which is a great location for lunch. For the last 25km of the day you will ride along the coast taking in beautiful views. There are various short climbs but nothing too onerous. Pass the alluring sandy beach of Kaputas, perhaps take a refreshing dip in the turquoise sea. Continue to the fishing village of Kas for your overnight stay. Elevation: 500m/1640ft

Meals:  B

The fishing village of Kas is an authentic harbour town with many quaint shops, restaurants, bars and terraces. The village lies on a slope, with narrow winding streets and old houses with stylish wooden balconies giving it a special atmosphere. Kas is built against a mountain ridge and has around 4500 inhabitants. 3000 years ago the Lycians called the village Antiphellos or Phellos. Until 1923 the population was mainly Greek and this is apparent in the style of the many old houses and the white plastered mosque, a former Greek church. In Kas you will find a large number of cafes and restaurants, it is also a true paradise for divers. In addition it offers archaeological highlights such as an amphitheatre from the Hellenistic era and Lycian tombs from the fourth century BC. Overnight in Kas. Optional short bike ride around the Cukurbag peninsula (12km)

Meals:  B

After breakfast take a short transfer to a height of 500 metres, from where you will cycle through a beautiful valley studded with agricultural villages. Here, time has literally stood still. Sheep herds, farming villages and stunning landscapes form the backdrop. From Demre, the route continues along the archaeological sights of the ancient city of Myra. Myra is also the place where the "real" St Nicholas was buried. The last part of the route follows a rugged coastline to Finike, known for its fruit cultivation. Overnight in Finike. Elevation: 600m/1968ft

Meals:  B

The first 25km of today's ride are completely flat and lead past vast greenhouses growing tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and eggplant. The second part of the ride is on narrow asphalted coastal roads with a climb of 7km after the 30km point. The top of the climb is around 380m. After your descent take time for lunch in the village of Çavusköy, perhaps trying a delicious Turkish Dönner. After lunch the path is almost flat to the bay of Adrasan. The bay is characterised by a beautiful sandy beach - perfect for a refreshing dip in the turquoise sea! Overnight in Adrasan. Elevation: 500m/1640ft

Meals:  B

A day at leisure to to relax on the beach or take a gentle walk along the bay. You could also end your cycling holiday with a boat cruise. Overnight in Adrasan

Meals:  B

After breakfast, departure transfer to Antalya airport (2hours duration).

The trip requires a good level of fitness from participants, acquired from steady cycling. The day tours range between 32 to 66km/20 to 41mi, taking you through hilly and mountainous terrain. Participants will also have to master extended climbs, during which you may need to push the bike. You will traverse mostly asphalted roads, which are rarely travelled outside of the holiday seasons. *For safety reasons, we insist that cycle helmets be worn whilst cycling.
