The Danube, Europe's second longest river, courses through ten countries en route to the Black Sea. This expansive cycling tour leads you along the entire German Danube. From where the Brigach and Breg Rivers join in Donaueschingen to where the River crosses over to Austria near Passau, you will cycle through the entire breadth of Southern Germany. As the cycle path meanders alongside the river, pass by magnificent castles and monasteries and get to know the exciting cities of Ulm and Regensburg. The route is characterised by stunning natural vistas and numerous picturesque towns and villages.

DAY 1 Arrive Donaueschingen DAY 2 Through the Baar landscape to Muhlheim/Fridingen/Beuron (45-65km / 28-40.5mi) DAY 3 Cycle to Sigmaringen with its inhabited castle or Scheer (40-50km / 25-31mi) DAY 4 Continue past historic villages to Obermarchtal/Ehingen (50-65km / 31-40.5mi) DAY 5 Cycle past medieval castles and ruins to Ulm (45km / 28mi) DAY 6 Interesting villages and a Rococo style church are part of the scenery en route to Lauingen/Dillingen (50 or 55km / 31 or 34mi) DAY 7 Cycle to Donauwörth on the mouth of the Wörnitz (45 or 40km / 28 or 25mi) DAY 8 A few small hills of the Franconian Jura en route to Ingolstadt (65km / 40.5mi) DAY 9 Continue by bike and boat to Kelheim (55km / 34mi) DAY 10 Cycle to Regensburg, the most northerly point of the Danube (40km / 25mi) DAY 11 Cycle past Wörth Castle to Straubing with its distinctive tower (55km / 34mi) DAY 12 Cycle to Deggendorf, the gateway to the Bavarian forest (40km / 25mi) DAY 13 A final stage to the three river city of Passau (60km / 37mi) DAY 14 Trip concludes (or continue on to Vienna or Budapest)

High season is from 20 May to 17 Jun and 1 Jul to 26 Aug. Mid season is from 29 Apr to 19 May, 18 Jun to 30 Jun and 27 Aug to 30 Sep. A supplement applies to mid and high season departures and the season is determined by the start date.NB: A black out period applies from 12-18 September due to a local festival in Donaueschingen.
