traveller reviews

  • The relaxing bike and barge trip seeing the highlights of homes on the canals and sand dune areas of coast was wonderful. Delicious food was served for breakfast and dinner. The guide communicated with the group and he was very flexible. The barge was very comfortable and the captain ensured we all enjoyed our 7 days holidaying in Holland. H. Reid. Coorparoo, QLD. Australia
  • The most authentic and pleasant way of seeing Holland. At times, cycling against the wind can be challenging, so be prepared for this. Hospitality on the barge was excellent. W van Asperen UK
  • Food excellent, Bram was very good. We had a very good time. R. McMullin Victoria, Australia
  • We both thought cycling in Holland would be easy being so flat but we found the strong winds made it challenging at times. Two people on the tour had electric bikes and after trying them, my wife would have benefited from one of these ... as this would especially help the older cyclists enjoy the trip more. The food was excellent - Marcia was the best cook ever. (Group Leader) Bram was fantastic. We were concerned about the storage in the cabin before we arrived but this was unfounded - plenty of room for all our bags. Excellent. K. Alchin. Terranora, NSW Australia
Discover antiquated Dutch towns, castles and ports and experience the beauty of Holland's lakes, beaches and sand dunes. This itinerary ventures into the 'green heart' of the Netherlands to gain an insight into the country's highlights with its historic towns and picturesque countryside. From Amsterdam we board our barge and after exploring the city's canals we leave it behind for the tranquility of the Dutch countryside. Cycling through quiet lake areas we experience the medieval centres of Haarlem and Leiden at handlebar level. We explore the scenic north with its ports, including Hoorn, where we discover the spirit of the Dutch Golden Age.
