traveller reviews

  • What an amazing way to experience the beauty of the Danube. Spend the day cycling along well defined bike paths, and the nights cruising the Danube served by a marvellous crew. It is the best. D. Foster. Smithfield, QLD. Australia
  • Both trips in Europe - both the Danube and the Loire Valley bike/barge tours were just fabulous. They were very different - the Danube, bigger boat, more people on board, self guided etc. The Loire, small barge with only 15 passengers and we were guided. It was interesting to experience both in the one holiday. I truly enjoyed both trips and would certainly repeat this way of travel again....it is so good to have a base on the boat so as to avoid packing and carrying luggage each day. L. Sheldon. QLD Australia
  • Every day had special memories - the view of the Danube Loop from top was definitely a WOW. The beautiful wine region, small villages with special cafés. The people we met, the service onboard including the tour Director Andres.. This type of trip is a perfect way to explore the countryside, villages and history while keeping in shape. The ship ‘Theodore Korner’ has everything you need it is very nice, recently renovated and staff offer great service. The bikes are great, staff is there to store them for you when you arrive at the end of the day and have them ready for you when you leave in the morning all you need to do is get on ride and enjoy the day. For the self-guided the tour Director provides good briefings and available for additional questions and guidance. S. Lefebvre. Gatineau, QC, Canada
  • We had a fantastic time! The crew was outstanding making our trip so wonderful! The weather was perfect & we saw such beautiful country along the Danube! The food was great & we would do this trip again in a heartbeat! M. Friesen. Courtenay, BC. Canada.
  • Overall it was a great trip. The barge/cycle trip was fantastic and very well organised. We all had a great time, good weather and a lot of fun along the way. R Berry. Noosa, QLD. Australia
  • It was a fantastic trip which we both enjoyed. Brought a book to read but didn't want to miss on anything, finished 5 days later. Services and meals excellent with buffet breakfast. After cyclists left the boat the Manager said to me put your name on the list for lunch. Lunch is a 3 courses, soup, main, and dessert. On the 3rd day I said to the Manager I'm not having lunch anymore as my jeans are getting tighter, lol! R. Ruluked. Springwood, QLD. Australia
Europe's second longest river, the Danube, courses through ten nations en route to the Black Sea. This itinerary follows its journey through three European countries and some of the most romantic European landscapes. From the cobblestone streets of charming Passau head out into Austria, winding your way past enchanting monasteries and majestic castles. By boat cruise the Danube through Upper Austria and Slovakia to reach the vibrant city of Bratislava and the romantic Austrian capital of Vienna, one of the most magical cities in Europe. Heading west, the pace slows down, with a memorable cycle across the Wachau Valley past rolling vineyards, hill top castles, meadows and forests to encounter atmospheric landscapes and sites of arresting history. Enjoy the atmosphere of life on board with like minded active travellers, sampling local culinary delights and relaxing atop the sundeck with splendid views of the changing scenery.
