  • The 3 day Burgundy Highlights self guided cycling tour was the highlight of our 3 week trip to France. We also cycled the Loire Valley but thought the scenery and food of the Burgundy region was better. Cycling through the vineyards and quaint villages was lovely. We highly recommend this trip. L. Based in Burgundy's wine capital, Beaune, this short break combines cycling through the grand estates with time to soak up the charm of the town. The nearby vineyards offer a number of interesting cycle routes on a combination of dedicated cycle paths and minor roads, past rolling vine covered hills and small hamlets brimming with local produce. Sample wines at the cellar door or stop for a leisurely lunch at one of the many restaurants in the region. There is ample time to appreciate the great history of Beaune and a visit to the hospices is a highlight.
