Alsace Walk
The Kayserberg Valley in central Alsace has a strong wine growing heritage and the wines are world renowned particularly the Rieslings, Gewurztraminers and Pinot-Grays. The local cuisine which has developed alongside the viticulture industry includes such delicious specialties as tarte flambée, baeckeoffe, tarte alsacienne and numerous varieties of cheeses. With its pretty villages of half timbered houses, historical relics from Celtic and Roman times and abundance of cellar doors, the Kayserberg Valley has no shortage of places to visit. Whilst the villages and cuisine await there are fabulous walking trails to explore. Walk between wine villages in a landscape dominated by the Vosges mountains with chestnut groves descending the slopes to meet the lush green vineyards. Ascend forest trails to vantage points where small lakes merge with the balloon shaped hills of the Vosges, before continuing to your nights accommodation in a specially hand picked hotel.
