traveller reviews

  • Most memorable moments: the beautiful ocean, countryside and visiting the small towns! R. Brownlee. San Diego, USA
  • Most memorable moments: The descent into Florence with the magnificent view. The Euro logos/ arrow on posts were excellent. A couple missing in vital areas but generally great. Loved the two tone written instructions -easy to find your place. An excellent trip and not difficult. It was satisfying riding between 2 cities rather than selected 45 k bike rides on bike paths on the Danube river cruise we did 2 weeks earlier A. Cooper. Blackburn, VIC, Australia
  • This is hard. There are lots of memorable parts. Probably the most awesome part was the long downhill into Florence on the final day. B. O'Regan. Christchurch, New Zealand
  • Very good value. The directions booklet .. was excellent, couldn't fault it G Hounslow Busselton WA
Between the two romantic cities of Florence and Venice is the unknown Italy, where vineyards and endless sunflower fields merge with orchards and charming villages, where the river landscape has played an integral part in the regions history and local fisherman wave as you cycle past their pole-huts lining the canals. The relaxed cycle route winds away from Venice along the Adriatic coast, reminding you of the previously strong Venetian dominance over the seas. Taking in the artistic culture and historical legacies entwined in the region of Emilia-Romagna, where mosaics, ceramics and cuisine are some of the noted specialties, there are endless opportunities to stop and absorb the attractions. Interspersed with short train and ferry rides, the final stage to Florence is a fitting end to this engaging cycle journey.
