traveller reviews

  • In general route & locations of stays all good with a good guide to follow. V. Hand. Finley, NSW. Australia
  • I did the Lake Constance Circuit with my husband and 8-year old daughter and we loved it! The lake and the scenery were stunning and the biking was sublime, with well-marked trails and many people biking and hiking along the way. It was challenging for my daughter (35-50 km per day; mostly flat) but she was up for it and there were always options to reduce the mileage by taking trains or ferry boats. A. Bate. Vancouver, BC. Canada
  • Our cycling trip together with two of our close friends was one of the best trips we have experienced in all our travels. We are already looking at another similar trip for next year. Thanks again. J. Zappia. Goulburn, NSW, Australia.
Lake Constance, formed by the Rhine Glacier during the Ice Age, consists of three bodies of water: the Obersee (upper lake), the Untersee (lower lake), and a connecting stretch of the Rhine called the Seerhein. It is bordered by three countries - Germany, Switzerland and Austria - and sits at the northern foot of the Alps. On this circular cycle around the lake, visit the medieval towns of Constance, Stein, Meersburg and Lindau all while enjoying the amazing landscape of the lake against the backdrop of the Alps. Visit the largest waterfalls in Europe, the Rhine Falls and delight in the flower island of Mainau. Soak up the atmosphere in the picturesque towns lining the lakeshore with opportunities to swim and kayak during the warmer months. The cycle terrain is ideal for families.
