Cycle through Lombardy on a carefully planned itinerary capturing the highlights of the Italian Lakes. From the shores of Lake Garda, at the foot of the Dolomites to Lake Como with its majestic villas and charming lakeside towns to Maggiore, the gateway to the Swiss Alps, the route winds its way along back roads and canal paths ensuring an enjoyable cycle experience. With large doses of history and culture, there is ample time at the end of the cycling day to explore the town and surrounds or relax in a piazza with a cold drink. At night stay in hotels specially chosen for their character, before setting out again to discover the spectacular scenery and historic treasures typical of the Italian lakes.

DAY 1 Join Lake Garda (Desenzano or Sirmione) DAY 2 Cycle the canal path Naviglio Grande Bresciano to Brescia (45km) DAY 3 Through the vineyards of Franciacorta to Bergamo (last stage by train) (60km) DAY 4 A short train ride then cycle to Lake Como along the Adda River and via small lakes and towns (55km) DAY 5 Explore Lake Como en route to Varese (40km) DAY 6 Cycle to Lake Maggiore (40km) DAY 7 Follow the banks of the Ticino to Naviglio Grande, a canal connecting the lake to Milan (75km) DAY 8 Trip concludes Milan
